While it is given a review writer should base what he writes about something he had first-hand experience with, he should be able to give objective facts and not depend on his own thoughts.

Again, writing a review is subjective but a reviewer should base his subjective perception on the objective facts and confirm or deny them based on his experience.

The best example of this is when you are reviewing a car in which the engineers who designed it say it can reach up to 200 miles per hour. The reviewer should, if allowed to do the test drive, see if it can indeed reach up to that top speed. If so, only then a reviewer could confirm that the car lives up to the expectations.

So, how will you review a video game?

You Should Play - there is no way you can produce a good and honest review of a video game if you haven't played it. Therefore, you should spend some time to play it and discover about the things you heard about the game and compare them to your own gaming experience.

Evaluate the Graphics - for modern video games, the graphical representation is very important because they give life to a game; hence, the name "video" game. Evaluating the graphics would require you to switch to different resolution and screen size and see if the performance is affected by every setting. You should also see if the game provides what the developers promised regarding the video.

Listen and Criticize the Audio - listening is definitely different from criticizing. You should first listen so that you will know how the audio is being recorded and put into the game. If you have heard enough, criticize it and extract some facts from your experience.

Learn the Controls - playing a video game well means you should also learn how to effectively use the controls then be mindful of the sensitivity of every button or keys. Some games are just not so responsive than others. If you need to differentiate the control sensitivity with other games, then do so but don't overdo it.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-17707122828151946032012-01-12T11:55:00.000-08:002012-03-13T11:56:12.561-07:00Choosing The Best Flight Simulation Game
Which Flight Simulator Is Best for Your Needs?

One can easy get lost in many different options presented when buying a new flight simulation game. The choice is huge and, the truth be told, most of the choices are neither worth your money nor time. It's very important to be objective when choosing which game to buy. You have to assess your needs and your real intentions.

Each game is very much different and developed for different groups of people. Casual gamers, aviation enthusiast and pro pilots will all have needs of different types of games with different features and options, consequently, those game will have different price tags. Choose wisely and before buying assesses the qualities of each game, read reviews, forum posts and user comments. Game that doesn't suite your needs could make your flying experience awful and could even ruin your dreams of becoming an airplane pilot one day.

There are some of the features, however, that are universal to all types of flight simulators and are crucial for enjoyable gaming experience. The most important of these features is nice looking graphic. Flying simulators that don't have good graphic details are destined to fail. People get annoyed with them easily and look for another game that looks nicer.

Flight simulation game also has to be realistic. This feature is very much connected with graphic too. Scenery, landscapes and environment must look as realistic as possible and match the characteristics of a real world.

When buying a flight simulation game look for the following features:

* Good graphic detail in high resolution.
* Realistic sceneries and true-to-life landscapes.
* Ability to change the environment easily and without distortions.
* The game has to be attractive and interesting to play.

The goal of a good flight simulator should also be to instruct its users, to give them the realistic experience and to improve their skills and overall knowledge of aviation industry. This is also a good way to test new aviation equipment and gear. So it is very important to pick a game that has lot of aircraft to choose from and if it has regular updates and follows the changes and innovations in aviation industry.

If you are truly interested in flying and want too improve your skills, the game you choose must have realistic controls and commands. The control panel inside the cockpit of a plane must be identical as in a real airplane and your game controllers have to be realistic too. The price of such controllers (yokes, pedals and joysticks) could be high, often higher than the game itself.

As shown in previous example, the cost of the game and gear combined could get very high. If you are not familiar enough with all the features and with all the options on the market you could be spending lot of money for the options or gear that you don't really need, or you could be buying something not good enough for you. To avoid such costs check the market and see if the game has following options:

* It has to have regular updates and add-ons.
* Must have good and friendly customer support.
* Real time and multiplayer options are also very important.
* To avoid additional costs add-ons and updates have to be free of charge.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-38533150573046177322011-12-23T11:54:00.000-08:002012-03-13T11:55:21.280-07:00How to Pick Up Great Headphones For Gaming: 5 Useful Tips
When it comes to the gaming world, many gamers need special gears to push their gaming experiences to new levels. I can list them here as gaming mice, gaming keyboards, headphones and more. And what I want to share with you today is how to pick up great headphones that fit your needs.

Remember that picking the wrong pair of headphones might lead to bad results as you're not at the best mood of playing your favorite games. So pay close attention to the following tips. I know they will help you select your own good headphones.

Tip #1: Don't follow the trends

There are times when new products come out and people seem to go crazy about them. But be aware of these new trends as new products are not necessarily the better ones.

Many gamers fall into the trap of throwing away large amounts of money just to bring home over-hyped headphones. So, don't blindly follow the mass. Take your own time and do some researches.

Tip #2: Join forums and ask for suggestions

Gaming forums are great places to ask for advices. You will meet many people with the same interests as yours. And chances are, they might know the answer to your questions.

If you have a specific headphones you want to buy in mind but don't know if it's good or not, you can ask people there. I'm sure they'll happily assist you.

Tip #3: Don't spend more than you can afford

Fact is, upgrading your own gaming gears is a very expensive task. It would cost you thousands of dollars if you want the best gears out there. And a pair of high-end headphones alone would cost you hundreds of dollars already!

But there are still many options at affordable prices for you to choose from. I think an investment of less than $200 is more than enough for you to equip decent headphones.

Tip #4: Wired or wireless headphones?

There are different opinions about this topic. Many gamers will argue that wired headphones are the best and wireless headphones are not good when it comes to sound response. However, I think it's not true.

As technology advances, there are more and more wireless headphones with top quality for us to choose from. And wireless headphones will be more flexible and compatible as well.

I've seen many wireless headphones work simultaneously with only one wireless source! So, they're definitely great choices!

Tip #5: Read product reviews before buying

One of the best ways to know more about the headphones you're about to buy is through reading product reviews. They will give you a better look at the pros and cons of the headphones as well as what other people think.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-18266220231130224592011-12-02T11:53:00.000-08:002012-03-13T11:54:23.177-07:00Why Many Flying Schools Use Flight Simulator Games?
It does require lot of skills and extensive training to become a professional airline pilot. Lots of people are interested in this job and would like to start a career in aviation industry but flying a plane is very much different than driving a car and getting a pilot diploma is way tougher than getting a driving license.

Luckily, there is a large number of specialized flying schools around offering courses for aspiring pilots and flight crew, helping them to get the knowledge and practice needed for this challenging and demanding profession. The cost of such schools used to be enormous, but in recent years they have managed to reduce their prices considerably and the main reason for that price cut was the increased use of flight simulator systems.

There are many different types and models of flight simulators on the market and their usage and main purposes are different too. Most popular are flying simulation software applications and computer games and they will be our main focus of interest in this article.

Realistic experience of flying these systems offer combined with reasonable prices make them a popular choice for many flight enthusiast, aviation fans and flying schools alike. Of course, flight schools will need higher quality flight simulators with better features and higher level of realism.

The main purpose of such applications and games is to give a trainee pilot all necessary experience of flying and to avoid all dangers that flight in a real plane would involve. There are many different skills that pilots can acquire using such simulators. They can choose from many different airplanes and other types of aircraft to fly with. They can also get experience of flying in different weather conditions and in different countries and areas of the world.

Designers and developers of modern flight simulator games are putting lot of effort to create high quality products as much real-to-life as possible. The maps, landscapes and sceneries are very precise and realistic. Other popular features include changing seasons, night flying and flying in different climate and weather conditions. These options are now considered to be standard features and are included in most of the packages on the market.

The good thing about modern flight simulators is that people don't have to go to a flying school any longer to get the basic experience of flying. Lot of games are almost as good as high-end simulators and are perfect for flying hobbyists and aviation enthusiast to try their skills and knowledge on their own computers. That is a great way to get an insight into the secrets of flying and learn for a cheap price if professional pilot career is really what they want.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-41429350526572287942011-11-12T11:52:00.000-08:002012-03-13T11:53:22.527-07:00Why Computer Games Are Offensive
As a video game professional and a gamer I find the term 'computer games' unbelievably offensive. This doesn't mean that I am a console fangirl simply hating on PC games, or that I refuse to develop for anything other than PC. Actually, I am referring to the use of the term by the wider community and its perpetuation of the notion that video games are for children.

My feelings on this matter were in part sparked by the debate for R18+ classification in Australia in recent years. I was following the progress closely for much of last year and was increasingly confused by the constant referral of video games as computer games. In an age where gaming exists on any and every platform one can think of, I am repeatedly puzzled by the use of such a dated term. Games have been beyond the humble home computer for decades so why are they remaining weighed down by such a term? The answer, I find, stems from those who use the term; people who oppose an R18+ classification.

Perhaps this is the primary reason for my feelings on this matter. It seems that every time I see the use of the words they are accompanied by some ridiculous spiel from a family or Christian group about how games are only for children. Or that somehow an R18+ rating system would give children access to sexual, violent or other behaviour that is beyond their maturity. This ideal is dumb, and anyone who plays video games knows this. It shows a great amount of ignorance towards the games and the industry affected by the matter. That said Australia is finally on its way to having an R18+ classification system. While I'll admit I do scrunch up in disdain every time I see 'computer games' used in official government documentation, I'm happy that progress is being made. I know we aren't there yet but with each step we as gamers and game professionals come closer to acceptance by the wider community. You never know maybe the groups and individuals who showed firm opposition will eventually sway to our train of thought. Can you imagine if they even became gamers themselves!

I liken the term 'computer games' instead of 'video games' to my sister's feelings toward 'potter' instead of 'ceramicist'; it is laden with just enough ignorance toward my profession, my interests and the gaming industry as a whole that I find it infuriating enough to rant about it in an article. Unfortunately without a rating system that caters to the maturation of gamers and gaming professionals, my view is not likely to change.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-76296687144575274812011-10-15T11:51:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:52:30.538-07:00Word Games Are A Teaching Aide As Well As Fun
I suppose in today's information blizzard the game of Hangman doesn't cause anyone - child or adult - to experience fear and cold sweats. I don't think that can be said of first time participants in Victorian times. Back in those days the term hangman conjured up thoughts of crime and punishment and definitely wasn't considered entertainment.

In fact, Hangman is one of the oldest word games. To quote Tony Aulard of "The Oxford Guide To Word Games", "The origins of Hangman are obscure, but it seems to have arisen in Victorian Times." 1. In 1894 Alice Bertha Gomme`s book "Traditional Games" it appears under the name "Birds, Beasts and Fishes" in its simplest form. The first and last letter of a word is listed and the player fills in the blanks. 2.

When I take a look at the games available today I see the evolution of Hangman in many of the modern computer games like Bookworm, Word Zen, Tumble Bees, and from Pogo Games the very entertaining Word Whomp Whackdown and QWERTY. I can spend hours in a good game of mahjong. When I discovered the best of two worlds - word and mahjong in one game I was as pleased as punch. (It occurs to me I should look up the origin of these catch phrases if I am going to use them as often as I do.) Word Jong is one of my favorites. You are provided with a pile of mahjong tiles all of which are labelled with a letter of the alphabet. The object of the game is to spell words with the tiles that have a side open. Upon using all of the tiles the player is rewarded with a Fortune Symbol and earning all 4 symbols provides tokens as a reward. Haiku is another. Wikipedia offers this definition:" This (Haiku) is often represented by the juxtaposition of two images or ideas and a cutting word between them, a kind of verbal punctuation mark which signals the moment of separation and colours the manner in which the juxtaposed elements are related." 3. The short version: Link two Japanese short poems by a word that acts as a joiner by finding all of the letters in the words. The really short version: this is a great way to learn language, spelling and history.

I know this to be the case because I have increased my vocabulary by at least 25% in the last couple of years. When I retired a few years ago I wanted to persue one of my passions: writing. I had taken a course in journalism and creative writing in my early 50s so I was sure I was ready to set the world on fire with my written words. Imagine my surprise when I discovered myself sitting and staring vacantly into space searching for words. It took a while to discover computer games provided me with "think time" and computer word games provided me with the additional benefit of extending my vocabulary in leaps and bounds. Even now I find myself adding to my vocabulary when playing games like Word Whackdown or Word Jong and I am encouraged to discover it is more likely to be three letter words than 5 or 6 letter words.

The effect these type of games have on children and their ability to learn cannot be overstated in my opinion. Ours is a world full of computers, codex (I`m told) and calculations and today`s children must begin their studies a lot earlier in life than we did. Games such as the above mentioned word games provide an element of education which will create a foundation for one of the "3R's" which still apply in a well rounded education.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-63507782305417419082011-09-23T11:50:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:51:18.559-07:00Addiction of the Racing Games
Among some of the most addictive games you can find online, the racing ones are definitely on top of the list. The smooth graphic lines, the detailed cars, and the 3D world created by real artists, are all implemented in some of the most awesome games with cars. And all of this effort really pays of when you see the reaction these marvelous games create. It starts slow and progressively grows into a major addiction you just can't stop, and you won't even want to!

Your First Racing Game

As you start your first online engine, you just test the waters to see if they are as spectacular as everyone says they are. It takes a little while to get used to the control keys, the mouse, or joystick, but once you get the hang of it, you will slowly start to like it very much. A lot of possibilities will open before your eyes, enabling you to discover fantasy worlds in your pimped-out ride. It's true, the online gaming zone offers you more than what the real life can, at least when it comes to cars. Driving a Ferrari, a Lamborghini or a Maserati will probably never happen in the real life. So as you drive your first online car, think about the fancy model you want to upgrade.

Awesome Rides

After a few laps, a few failures and bumps in the road, you will totally get the hang of it. Awesome rides will soon follow, and your driving skills will totally improve. You can speed up without bumping into obstacles, you can do tricks, and you can win challenges to unlock the super cars. Driving your real car will seem like a boring thing to do now, not to mention far more dangerous. But in the virtual space, any trick is allowed, there is no speed limit and the cars crashing into each other is simply another way to start over with a fresh one. And of course, you will want to start over, proving everyone that you can do it better. Most of the racing games online will engage you in an ambitious ride, making you want to control and dominate the streets forever. And this is how the addiction starts!

Getting Deep Into the Addiction

Once your driving skills are sharpen to perfection, you will strive to be the best among any driver out there. Spending more and more hours in front of your computer will be considered an effort worth your time. The reward is the most amazing cars, your name up on high-scores board and even bragging about it to your friends. Soon enough, racing games will have you tied up to your computer screen, incredibly focused and super determined to ride your car for one more lap!vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-86365087530018298482011-09-08T11:48:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:50:12.094-07:00A Brief Diablo 3 Monk Leveling Guide
In this brief Diablo 3 Monk Leveling Guide we will explore the unique attributes of the new monk class and learn about the traits that set the them apart from other melee classes in Diablo 3.

The monk is know for his or her mastery of both mind and body. Only after many years of training in the spiritual and martial arts do they leave the monastery and enter into battle to rid the land of evil.

A master of unarmed combat as well as melee weaponry, the monk dispatches of his enemies with lightning-fast strikes and lethal weapon blows. They are capable of inflicting enormous damage on single targets as well as a handful of AOE (area of effect) attacks to multiple enemies using their elemental power. Their single target damage will make monks a valuable group member when fighting bosses and more difficult rare mobs.

Monks are extremely nimble, opting to quickly move around the battlefield while engaging their enemies, rather than slower, more heavily-armored classes such as the barbarian who may opt to engage is a relatively stationary slugfest. However, when forced with dealing with dangerous and overwhelming situations, the monk has many evasive and defensive skills to avoid incoming damage.

The monk has access to a vast array of martial abilities, which are amplified in their power and efficiency when used in quick succession. Certainly, the monk's predisposition to make use of the combo experience bonuses available in Diablo 3 will be of great benefit to fast monk leveling throughout the game.

Spirit is the monk's main resource and is generated from deep within the monk himself. It is said to be the product of years of focused training and spiritual discipline.

Like the resources of other classes, spirit is generated and spent depending on which abilities are used. Landing multiple spirit-generating attacks in a row will fill the monk with his/her spirit power which can then be expended through devastating attacks and finishing abilities on multiple targets or even life-saving evasive maneuvers.

There is no cool-down on spirit-using abilities, though when it's gone it will quite slowly on its own. To regain spirit quickly, you will need to land several spirit-generating abilities in order to refill your meter. By carefully planning sequences of attacks, you can develop a rotation of abilities that will constantly be draining and refilling your spirit, allowing for an essentially endless barrage of deadly attacks.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-55556840349514065652011-08-25T11:47:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:48:54.711-07:00A Quick Diablo 3 Templar Leveling Guide
In this Templar Leveling Guide overview, we will delve into the righteous world of Kormac, the Templar follower. Throughout the guide, I will cover their lore, skills, and some of the pros and cons to consider when choosing the Templar to help you achieve fast Diablo 3 leveling!

The Templar is a holy fighter with the highest of moral standards and the strictest of codes. Known as Kormac, this Diablo 3 follower is a devoted warrior who has deprived himself of all earthly pleasures in order to better ready himself to enforce justice throughout the lands. His life is dedicated to victory over the dark forces that threaten Sanctuary and he will not rest until evil is vanquished or he gasps his last breath...whichever comes first.

The Templar is the first follower that a player is given access to in Diablo 3. This is undoubtedly because of their extremely useful healing and tanking abilities that make gameplay for beginners quite a bit easier.

If playing a ranged class, they can be used to distract and taunt enemies, allowing the Templar and his sturdy armor to take all of the abuse while you sit back and attack from afar. Conversely, melee classes such as the barbarian and the monk may prefer to make use of the Templar's very capable healing abilities, which can heal your character and/or the Templar, as well as increase your resource regeneration.

This helper is also no slouch when it comes to DPS. With several abilities for dealing substantial damage to enemies, such as Onslaught and Guardian, they can certainly hold their own in the midst of battle. Without a doubt, the Templar is by far the most well-rounded and easy to use follower available in Diablo 3.

The Templar's armor is fairly robust in the beginning levels, powerful in the middle, and at higher levels is simply rock-solid. When completely armored, he is a fearsome looking fighter, clad head to toe in thick iron plating and ready to protect and serve you through any situation you might encounter. While most of his gear is automatically upgraded as he advances in levels, you are able to manually outfit him with custom amulets and rings.

The Templar is the only follower class able to carry a shield. Templar shields will substantially increase his armor, his chance to block and the amount of damage that is blocked per hit. This certainly contributes to his excellent performance as your tanking buddy.

For weapons, they are able to use only those of the one-handed variety. These include one-handed axes, daggers, one-handed maces, spears, and one-handed swords.

Templar relics are the follower special item of this class. Relics are sacred items that are imbued with holy power, giving their bearer increased power and moral fortitude. Some of the Templar relics that you will be able to equip throughout Diablo III include a Holy Tome, Spear Fragment, Sacred Text, Martyr Tears, Chalice, Blade Remanant, and a Grail.

Let's start with the pros. The Templar provides you with a viable tank to keep take enemy abuse and keep you out of harm's way. He also can heal both of you and increase your resource regeneration. Whether you're playing a barbarian, monk, demon hunter, witch doctor or wizard, you will surely find that the Templar follower is an extremely valuable asset to have at your side as you level up in Diablo 3.

While this class is indeed VERY well-rounded, some may view him as a jack of all trades but master of none. His DPS will typically end up being a bit lower than that of the scoundrel and the enchantress. He also doesn't really offer as many interesting abilities as some of the other follower classes, so if you find that you don't need a tank or healer by your side, you may want to opt for a different follower class and experiment with some of the more unique skills they bring to the table.

While the Templar will certainly aid you in getting past some of the more difficult bosses and deadly situations in D3, you will find that when solely looking to carve a path of destruction through the battlefield, he may not be quite the juggernaut he claims to be. Consider the zones and encounters you will be facing first when trying to decide whether or not to bring along your Templar follower.

They actually perform quite well with any Diablo 3 class, which is probably why Blizzard makes the Templar available as your first follower in the game. The only thing to keep in mind here is that you may want to choose a build focused more on healing if you plan to be taking a lot of damage. Conversely, if you plan to stand back from the fight and attack at range (e.g. demon hunter, wizard, witch doctor), you will probably want to choose a Templar tank build so that he can round up your foes for easy disposal.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-63283874843978255932011-08-12T11:47:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:47:53.548-07:00PvZ 3 Gate Expand
With the amount of openings available in PvZ it can be hard to decide what's best to do in every situation. What map is it? What are the positions? Have I played this map before? Etc etc. These are all questions that play important roles in determining your build. Luckily, even if you are in completely unknown territory there's a standard build that will work on all maps/positions (ladder/tournament maps): The 3-Gate + expo.

The 3-Gate + expo is solid, standard play that allows for a safe and relatively quick expansion with a standing army. Your early army opens up opportunities for pressure and scouting. It is also strong against any all-ins Zergs have.

A few words of caution: With any openings Protoss has against Zerg, early Spawning Pool timings must be accounted for, so make sure to scout and not get caught off guard by playing blind! More on this later.

So for starters, here's the basic build order:

9 Pylon
Chrono Boost → Nexus
12 Gateway
13 Assimilator
16 Pylon
17 Cybernetics Core
18 Assimilator
19 Zealot
Chrono Boost → Gateway
23 Sentry
Chrono Boost → Warp Gate Technology(x3)
25 Pylon
27 Sentry
30 Gateway(x2)
31 Pylon
31 Sentry
34 Nexus
34 Sentry(x3)
34 Pylon

Important Build Order notes:

Keep Probe production as constant as possible

9 Pylon: Scout at this time

16 (and 25) Pylon: Should spread these out for more difficult Overlord scouting

19 Zealot: Chrono Boost is on Gateway so the Sentry can start immediately afterward

27 Sentry: Use your two Sentries to kill incoming Overlords

30 Gateway(x2): Spread your Gateways along your multiple Pylons - keeps Zerg in the dark

31 Pylon: Build this at the bottom of your natural ramp - Helps create a wall with your Nexus

34 Pylon: Place this down in your natural for additional Sim-city

Initial building placement with this build is somewhat preference (unlike FFE builds). There's both pros and cons to the different wall-offs but you're eventually going to want the wall-off to deal with any run-by attempts. I'd suggest, if you're going for standard play, to just do the standard wall off (Gateway + Cybernetics Core).

Once you reach the Zerg's base with your scouting Probe, there's a few builds to take note of. First off, we've got the 6 (or just early timed) Pool. Your build will have to change in order to not allow lings in your base, or be able to defend them once inside if they do come, sometimes pulling Probes is a must.

Next there's more macro-oriented play (there are normal supplies for these, but they can change):

Expo → Pool

Pool → Expo

Gas → Pool → (Possible) Expo

Expo → Pool: A greedy expansion by the Zerg. A way to punish this includes skipping your first sentry for a Stalker and pressuring them with Zealot + Stalker combination. Your build should be able to stay near the same and forces more Zerglings and less drones (Try not to lose the Stalker).

Pool → Expo: Just a safe way for Zergs to get a quick expo (without worrying about cheese). No Zergling speed will be done anytime soon so if you need more information, a Probe can probably find out. Early 2 base pushes can still come so keep up scouting.

Gas → Pool → Expo: the chance of an all-in is greater, and your ability to scout with Probes gets shut down sooner. Whenever they get gas early, check to see if they take workers off after 100 just for Zergling speed. One worker might be left, but if they continue mining with three, be wary of a Baneling bust or Roach rush. Stick around to see if they put up an expo, or hide your Probe to come back for later scouting once their lings head to your base. If you can't get any information then play safe.

1 base pushes generally come before you go the make an Expansion, so correct Forcefields will keep you safe. Two base pushes are easier to hold if you make a wall from your ramp to your nexus with a Pylon/Forge(and whatever else needs to be added) - throwing down a cannon or two + good Forcefields holds these pushes.

If they make a large number of Speed Zerglins to deny your expansion just warp in your first round of Sentries (two Warp-in rounds if there's too many zerglings to handle or you have bad Forcefields. Make sure to stay on 6 sentries), then Expand. Good building placement/Forcefields shuts this play down nicely. Be sure to stay safe and make sure your follow-up build allows you to scout what they are doing next - greedy play can lose you games!vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-25416225015143926492011-07-18T11:45:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:46:43.546-07:00Dead Space 2 Review
I recently just got a triple SLI setup going, with three GTX 480 cards, now that they have dropped down to just $249.99, or even $219.99 for some retailers. One of the first games I decided to test out is a favorite of mine. The original Dead Space definitely has a place in my heart as one of my favorite games. I'm a big fan of over shoulder third person shooters, such as this game and Resident Evil 5.

Gameplay:
Gameplay in Dead Space 2 can be described as simple but sweet. Controls are easy to get use to, and they definitely surpass the controls in the original Dead Space. In the original, the game would got bezerk with V-sync enabled. I played Dead Space 2 with vertical sync disabled, and hardly noticed any screen tearing. The variety of guns in the game or of many and each being unique from another. Honestly, I was a little dissapointed to learn that the entire game could be beat with just the plasma cutter, which is quite sad and makes you want to ask, 'what's the point of the others?'. Sure they're fun to play with, but I like my weapons to be needed and be essential in certain situations, making each one important and playing a vital part for different portions of the game. Other than that, the camera works great with this gameplay style.

Levels:
The levels in the game are very well designed and more detailed then one could hope for. I discovered portions of the game that were beautiful, such as looking through a window to see the exterior of the station you are on. And I thought, 'so much of this must go unnoticed by the average gamer'. But not me! I tried to appreciate all the graphical glory that the game displayed by going through every corridor. Some of the areas are a little bland and can feel very enclosed, but it isn't too bad.

Story:
The story isn't anything to love over. The voice acting is well done and the character animations, and even the facial expressions, were given thought and were obviously done by some talents graphics artists. I'm on my second play through now, so I know most of the story, but I soon forgot about it even after my first play through. It isn't really all too memorable.vaizalhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03247290606649269323noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4018176152996067066.post-81003241082266016452011-07-11T11:43:00.000-07:002012-03-13T11:45:39.959-07:00Top 5 Minecraft Adventure Maps From 2011
Part and parcel of Minecraft is the ability to build your own map, and explore other people's creations. But with so many maps out there it can be difficult to wade through the mediocre to find the gems. If you're new to Minecraft, or simply want to make sure you haven't missed some great maps, check out these top five minecraft adventure maps.

5. SkyBlock 2.0

The first version of Sky Block became popular for it's limited map size and the survival difficulty it created. This follow-up version adds two more sky blocks to the map and starts you on a small island floating in the middle of nowhere, with an ice block and lava. It includes more items to find as you explore the challenge map. You won't have mastered this map until you figure out how to make a forest, a wheat farm, and a reed farm, with only 9 pieces of dirt.

4. Aramis

This RPG survival map is also known as Imperial Lands, and is massive. Although this map isn't directly inspired by any one particular fantasy world, the influences of A-List titles, such as the Morrowind series, Oblivion, the Fallout series, and Assassin's Creed. This map spans 11 cities, eight villages, three secret empires, and over 250 quests. The quests follow an open-world style similar to those designed by Bethesda Studios, and offer about 40 hours of gameplay. There is also a functional economy with a monetary system, and jobs to earn cash. Be sure not to miss the hidden roller coaster railway which provides an astoundingly long 20 minute ride.

3. The Forgotten Temple

This was one of the first adventure class maps to appear in Minecraft, and has been a longstanding favorite ever since. It plays much like a graphical version of classic text-based adventure games like Zork, by dropping the player into the middle of a dungeon, with a few signs to tell them their objective, and not much other help. You must solve puzzles, hidden doors and passageways, sound blocks and Minecraft's first high score board. It offers about 20 minutes of gameplay.

2. Deep Space Turtle Chase!

This is a relatively new map, and can be found on the VoxelBox server. What will strike you the first time you play this is how terrific the graphics look. The map comes with a high resolution texture pack, but you'd better have a machine with a little muscle to load it. The map itself is packed to the brim with tiny details to discover and plenty of things to do, including hurtling through space on a meteorite, and epic explosions. With something around 50 easter eggs to be found, you can spend untold amounts of time on this map. But this isn't just a pretty map. While players will always argue about which map is the absolute hardest, Deep Space Turtle Chase belongs in the top three, without a doubt.

1.Escape the Puzzlemaster

This is essentially Minecraft's answer to the Portal games, as it puts you in the position of trying escape a monomaniacal scientist who has placed you in the middle of a maze. The only way out, as the map name implies, is to solves a series of puzzles. You are given a series of clues to help you solves the puzzles, and they're cleverly written so as to be helpful, but not provide a readily obvious solution. The maze challenges are made up of parkour, riddles, running and lava obstacles. Completeing the puzzles will not only advance you through the map, but also provides rewards, in addition to the gold ingots scattered throughout.
